Stay tuned for more updates in September, but a couple key dates / updates as we get ready for back to school.  

Key Dates: 

• Friday, August 21st - teacher assignments will be posted to Aspen in the afternoon. Once you have your teacher assignment, please complete the following: 
  • Log in to your PTA account (Alden PTA - Open Forms) and update your user info for the current year.  This will ensure you don't miss anything from us as well as include you on any classroom specific updates from the class coordinators throughout the year.  Don't forget to include your student's t-shirt size to receive their free t-shirt during our fall fundraising campaign.  
• Tuesday, September 1st: 
  • 5 - 6PM - Please join us on the Alden playground for a welcome back hour.  This is a great opportunity to connect with old friends or meet some new ones!  J's Ice Cream will be on site with treats available for sale.  
  • 6 - 7PM - Alden Open House 
    • Students and families can find their classroom, meet their teacher and drop off school supplies.  
    • Stop by the PTA table in the lobby for info on club registration, upcoming events and ways to get involved.  
    • Office staff will also be available to check your CORI status and accept applications for any needing their CORI updated. CORIs must be updated every 3 years and applications need to be submitted in person, so this is a great opportunity to ensure you are up to date and eligible to volunteer.
• Wednesday, September 2nd - First Day of School! 
• Tuesday, September 8th - School Picture Day - be on the lookout for more info on ordering pictures and volunteer opportunities.  

Other reminders: 

• Classroom coordinators - if you are interested in serving as a classroom coordinator, please complete the Class Coordinator Interest Form.  This form will be available after teacher assignments are posted.  The form can be found at Alden PTA - Open Forms (note: you must update your contact info before the form will be visible to you).  
• Volunteer registration - there are two steps required in order to be eligible as a volunteer in the school or on field trips.  1) Register annually by completing the Volunteer Registration form at 2026-2027 Volunteer Registration Form. (Please note, this form will become available for completion after the teacher assignments are posted.)  2) Ensure you have a valid CORI on file with Duxbury Public Schools.  As noted above, CORI forms are valid for 3 years and office staff are available during the Open House to check status and accept new forms.
